For those of you who are unfamiliar with TelePsychiatry, it is a way for us to have an appointment over a HIPPA compliant video conferencing site. I use a site called doxy.me and you can access my account at doxy.me/doctorsood.
This method of appointment functions the same as an in person visit, allows patients from other parts of the city or state to have regular appointments without the need to take as much time off work/school. It can be done on a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
All medications (including controlled substances and ADHD medications) are able to be electronically prescribed to the pharmacy of your choice, so there is no lag time or need to mail prescriptions.
Most insurances cover this type of visit. However, it your responsibility to contact your insurance company to make sure they will cover Telepsychiatry.
